SHHS Volunteer Association:
Volunteer Coordinator: Trevor Davis
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Safe Harbor Humane Society! We are always looking for volunteers to help us with a variety of tasks at the shelter. To get started volunteering you will need to attend a 1 hour orientation where we go over safe animal handling, the history of Safe Harbor, and the different opportunities we have available here. Once you have attended the orientation you are able to come in and volunteer whenever you are available. Our orientation dates are always on Thursday evenings at 7 PM at the shelter (7811 60th Ave). They last approximately 1 hour. Here are the upcoming dates:
You only need to attend 1 orientation. If interested in attending any of the dates please email our volunteer coordinator at email@example.com. All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age (or accompanied by an adult). Volunteers under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature before they are able to start volunteering.

Pet Foster Parent
Do you have extra room in your heart to become a foster parent? Safe Harbor is always looking for foster families to care for animals that are too young to be adopted yet (under 8 weeks), recovering from surgery, or pregnant mothers. Our need is primarily in the summer time and it is mainly mother cats and young kittens. Safe Harbor will provide you with all the supplies you need as well as veterinary advice and support. If you are interested in becoming a foster please fill out our application or if you have any questions please email email@example.com Become a Pet Foster Parent
Sponsoring a Dog
We allow our volunteers to take our dogs off property to enjoy a day at the park or by the beach. To do this you simply come to Safe Harbor and fill out a sponsorship form and our staff will let you know what dogs you are able to take out for the day!
Watch the Volunteer Training Video
This video will help prepare you to volunteer as a dog walker and cat socializer (is that a word?). *Watching this video does not replace attending the shelter's volunteer orientation.*
After your contact form has been submitted. You will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator with the next available orientation dates.
The shelter animals can't wait to meet you!
