Safe Harbor Humane Society strives to be a resource for animal owners from birth to the most difficult stage: saying goodbye. Sometimes, the best choice you can make for a pet who is terminally ill, suffering, or so severely injured that he/she will never lead a normal life is to induce his death quietly and humanely through euthanasia. For help determining when is the right time to say goodbye to an ailing or elderly pet, see this Quality of Life scale, created by Alice Villabos, DVM.
While euthanasia services are available through us, we recommend you use your regular veterinarian for this service, where you can elect to be present at the time the euthanasia is administered. However, if you choose to use Safe Harbor, the euthanasia will be done through injection by caring, trained technicians. Fees for these services depend on the weight of the animal.
Euthanasia & Cremation
Fees for this service depend on the weight of the animal. General cremation includes cost of
disposal. Should you select private cremation, your animal’s remains will be returned to you.
